I think you know what I mean about "talking heads" in eLearning and webinars. It's those presentations where the presenter just drones on and on and basically reads to the audience, with the words they are reading usually on the training slide. Boring! Unfortunately, I see this all the time with all types of eLearning and webinars. Participants don't want to spend their time being read to, especially because people read faster than they can speak or listen, and this practices sets the stage for a major disconnect with the audience. Studies show that adults like to be in control of their learning, especially the "when", "where" and "how". That is why my eLearning has been proven to be so effective. I utilize Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise.
The attention span of your audience is shorter than ever* and time is valuable. Give them training that is designed to be engaging, informative and memorable.
* According to LChristensen in On24: In 2013, the average person’s attention span reached a milestone: it is now shorter than a goldfish’s. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine, the average attention span has decreased to eight seconds (from 12 seconds in 2000), which is shorter than the nine-second attention span of the average goldfish.
